During his short, yet memorable time, Alex Cabrera infused his optimism and cheerfulness into the hearts of all those with whom he crossed paths. 

 

The Alex Cabrera Foundation was established in memorial of Alex’s precious, young life, to pay forward his love of life, learning and people.

 

Were he alive today, Pura Cabrera's brother Alex would be 37 years old. In September of his 6th grade year, Alex’s life was tragically cut short, due to medical complications. 

 

Alex and Joe Cirillo were classmates at Daniel Webster Elementary School in Weehawken, NJ, and this coming September will mark the 25 Year Anniversary of Alex’s passing. Pura's and Joe's families became closer through the years (shout out to Laura Cirillo Ventura) and the rest is history.
